Welcome to
We are a sustainability charity, creating meaningful projects that move Tenterden towards a more resilient and sustainable future.
Positive change
We are an energetic, passionate group of local residents designing and delivering initiatives that help reduce carbon, recycle, repair, educate, and tackle plastic pollution.
We aim to be an empowering and enabling force, inspiring, informing, and supporting our community in Tenterden and neighbouring communities across East Sussex and Kent.
We work collaboratively with local authorities, schools, businesses, and non-profits. Together, we are creating the change we want to see.
Our Projects
Pop-up repair cafe
We have created a buzzing monthly pop-up repair shop and cafe in the heart of Tenterden. Our skilled volunteers provide free repairs for electricals, clothing, toys, bikes, ceramics, clocks, watches, and more. Repair helps the environment by reducing waste, emissions and the demand for the planet’s finite resources.
We have inspired a wave of repair initiatives in Rye and Rolvenden, which have amplified our positive impact.
Got a question about an item you’d like to have repaired? Get in touch.
Project partners: Tenterden Town Council & Women’s Institute.
Repair workshops
Many young people are grown up with the mindset that if something is broken, you throw it away. They also don’t have the skills or experience to make basic repairs.
We are working to address this by up-skilling and empowering local young people in practical repair skills and the STEM frameworks that support their application.
We are running a pilot repair programme at Homewood School and Tenterden Junior School, giving students hands-on workshops designed to inspire and nurture curiosity and problem-solving mindsets through repair.
Project partners: Homewood School, Tenterden Junior School & Team Repair.
Plastic Free Tenterden
We’ve joined the Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Communities campaign to reduce single-use plastics from cities to coasts. We’re freeing Tenterden of single-use plastic pollution and we’re on the journey to becoming a Plastic Free Community.
By collaborating with businesses, we are reducing the demand for unnecessary single-use plastic and rewarding local independents with Plastic Free Champion certification. We deliver assemblies in local schools to highlight the issue of plastic pollution and inspire action.
Our annual Green Fun Day is full of ideas for living a more plastic-free life.
